Yes, yes, another post on our favorite critter. Seen the posts on the propane magnets.. (a bit pricey!)
and if another person says "Get rid of standing water" I think I'll scream.
(Drain runs through the property with s l o w moving water, but I can't do anything about it, it's controlled)

Was curious if anyone has an opionon on our old friend the bug zapper. While the sound can be a bit annoying, do they really do anything to control bugs or are they only zapping the ones in the immediate area?

We could put on down closer to the creek to try and keep them from coming up by the house.
Also talked with a neighbor about hanging dry ice from one (for the CO2 attractant)

Any thoughts on this or opinions from users of the good 'ole zapper would be great.

Its my understanding that the lights used in bug zappers dont attract mosquitos at all. It does however attract a number of beneficial insects. /w3tcompact/icons/sad.gif

i have seen the zappers that come with a mosquito attractant that goes inside...but don't know if it works or not??

have been fighting this battle for years, never win! get rid of standing water? hell if i had to do that this year i might as well tip the whole property upside down,i do the best i can then load up with repellent.
