I bought a well used Meyer plow late last year, just finished it up except for painting and adding a diverter valve on the loader. I'm fairly pleased with it since this is the first thing I've built from steel. Unfortunately we've had little snow this year. Opinions?
Ignore the date on the photos,I really did just build it.

Its so well done, I can't tell what you fabricated and what is factory! I want to do something similar for my Kubota B7500 for next year. How long is your plow? How many horse is your tractor?

It's a 90" blade. I might shorten it depending if it pushes the front of the tractor around. The tractor is a 35 horse.

Looks great ! A little paint and it will look brand new!

Hiya,

One thing I would do is add a piece of angle stock below the rib your trip spring eye bolts are attached to. Your tractor looks to be about 3K Lbs and with that much weight pushing if it trips, that rib looks a little thin.

Just my 2 cents,

Tom

In my experience a 90" blade will push that size tractor around in deep snow (10" and up) if you float the loader. (Loader will unload the front just enough to make you use steering brakes to keep it straight.) Keep some weight on the front by lifting the blade a little and it should do fine.

If you've had little snow this year, then the plow is working perfectly!:D

Scared the snow away.:D tomd999:I will reinforce that,it's already bent a little.

I like how you moved it as far rearward as possible, the geometry looks much better than those plows way out front.

Why the bolt on angle iron brace? the rest of the plow frame is welded to the adaptor isn't it, you really can't change anything now, can you? Or is it just doubled up reinforcement?

As far as the width goes if you normally only get moderate snows then it will be fine and make for quick work, in heavy snow you would probably want it just a little smaller.

That's a very nice job you did there. I went through a similar thing a few months ago with my plow. The only thing I would do if I were you and I had to do with mine was add two skids in the rear of the plow frame. Doing so will will illuminate the possibility of the rear portion of the frame digging into the ground when your not paying attention and keeping an eye on your tilt. After I did mine that way I found it much better to operate and felt it was well worth the effort I put into it to get it done . Nice job though.
