I also live in the lovely Wisconsin countryside. I have 6 acres of hillsides, 4 of which need to be mowed. I also have a 550 ft. driveway sloped down about 60 ft in that distance. I bought a new Simplicity Legacy 4WD Diesel , and absolutely love it. 60" deck that gives a great cut, and a 60" blade for pushing snow. The diesel is very efficient. I can get my 4 acres cut in about 3 hrs., and use just over 1.5 gallons of diesel to do it.

Can't say that the Legacy was the lowest cost option, but with the current $800 rebate, and 12 months Same As Cash, I couldn't afford not to buy one.

1st of all let us welcome you to the forum. and then, are the 4 acres you need to mow , all your acreage and all your needs?

Hey thanks for all of the advice, you guys give a quick response!

A JD 2210 is what I was originally thinking of, but after doing some more research into other sub-CUTS I a more confused than ever. I think I'll start going to some implement stores and comparing.

I'm sure that other needs will come up. I am planning on having a very large garden that will need to be tilled and who knows what will happen in the future.
