New tractor owner - YM 1401

Got a tiller - make/model not known... No manual (see images)

Can't find pins for attachment. Tractor Supply (always helpful) was (ironicallly) not much help.

Attaches near PTO. (see image)

Was told that my 14HP tractor was a category 0 tractor and need to look elsewhere.

1) What is make/model of tiller?
2) Where do I find connectors?

Sorry, that's not cat 0 or 1. It is not even an industry-standard 3-point hitch.

It is a proprietary Yanmar 2-point tiller plus *most* of the special 2-point attachment parts that originally came on that tractor. Your tiller and tractor are a matched pair, just incomplete.

I think only a dealer with a boneyard of Yanmar tiller parts can help, nobody else can imagine what is missing.

But the good news is: Hoye sells a 3-point kit to make your tractor industry-standard. Then all implements (of reasonable size) can be attached. The price is reasonable, I think under $200.

Then it might be simpler to buy a 3-point tiller, if nobody can provide the parts you are presently missing.

where are you located, I know a couple places that have a lot of left over two point parts. If all your going to do is till then the two point system will do fine for you. if you need a 3 point then I would follow Winston's link.

That is the standard 2 point attach for Yanmar tillers. That looks like a 120 cm (4 feet) tiller. Chain drive and a very good tiller too. I have one. Model RS 1201 or something like that. What you are missing is the attach pins. A step pin that holds the tiller in the bracket and the pto shaft. That may be the hardest to find although there should be some available. I like the 2 point tiller and find it very easy to use and tight to the tractor. If I can I will go out and take pictures of my pins and pto shaft and post it in a bit.

Actually I do have the shaft. I may also have the attach pins somewhere. I bought tractor and several attachments and had an assortment of pins and other hardware handed to me. Several months passed and (largely due to my random scheme of storage) I didn't find what I thought I was looking for.

Anyways, I figured that new pins would be fairly inexpensive and easy to find. Not so much.

I guess my next step will be to do an extensive search to locate them. In the meantime, since this is still all pretty much new to me, any suggestion as to where I find new one?

I had one of those 2 point tillers that came off a YM1401. I converted it to 3 point so I could use it on any tractor, but it wasnt worth doing. Keep it as is with the tractor and just unbolt the bracket so that its out of the way when you hook up a 3 point hitch for the tractor. You can still use that tiller as a two point even though your ym1401 will have a 3 point hitch.
I use my rs1000 yanmar 2 point tiller in the same fashion on my ym1110d.

There are 2 different sets of pins for those tillers, (long or short).
I use to have a lot of them around but we sold most of them to members here.
I might have a set of short ones left in a corner somewhere. I will check it out.
