Its just one of those china made slip on mufflers you buy for all the yanmars

If you want to play supertuner forget muffler mods and put a hundred hours or so into adding a turbo. (And several hundred $. And hacking the Yanmar beyond what could be restored to salable condition.) I've read that many people choose one too large and the one from a SmartCar is the right size and reasonably available.

But it makes more sense to just buy a larger tractor that already has the cooling capacity etc etc matched to its horsepower.

That was a cool, although impractical, tractor. Volvo i believe, but Iain 5 may be wrong. Don't worry I'm not enough of a mechanic, don't have the money and need my little yanmar way too much to go crazy here but it is cool.
