That is a good idea. I haven't tried to disengae it for a long time. I will try that maye it just got stuck like yours. I thought it would be nice to turn it off when moving the bush hog over areas that I don't want to cut.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I think that's just the left brake linkage. It's welded solid to the rod that crosses over to the left brake pedal but the clutch pedal floats on this rod, doesn't rotate it. Not related to the pto.

I think you are right. I really feel like a dummy. I can see you are correct . I don't know why I thought it was related to the PTO. NOw that I look at it that lever is for the left brake. The brakes work fine bu the way. Soundguy probably has the answer about a stuck shifter. I will try his suggestion this weekend.

Thanks guys for you help.

If the link from the clutch is to disengage the pto gears when the clutch is depressed it might have dammaged the pto selector linkage. If the pto implement is pushing the tractor it is not possible to disengage the pto without damage to the pto selector due to the presure on the gears.

Sure.. but as long as you clutch while in 'acceleration.. the tractor is driving th implement.. not the other way around..

Case solved anyway.. re: brake linkage. That's a good thing too.. as i thought the clutch lockup to the pto shifter was kind of a bad idea anyway..

I think normmm may be right about the linkage being damaged somehow. Here is a pic of the linkage on my F16D.
