Hey fella's,
I am thinking about getting a FEL for YM 2000. It is a 2 wheel drive, gear trans. I have a couple of questions, Here goes. Do I have to add a pump to get more hydraulics for the FEL, also is my YM 2000 big enough for a FEL? I have had this tractor since 2001, and have never had to do anything except for regular maintenance. I do have a tiller, 4' rotary cutter, 4' box scrape. I have never....yes that's right never changed hydro fluid. Thanks for help, input and mostly your wise information!

Works for me! Take a look at my sig photo linked below. I've owned the YM240 (same thing) with loader since 2003.

Mine runs from the tractor hydraulics. Its not real fast but it is powerful. Plumbing in series ahead of the 3-point was the normal way to set these up for a loader.

People will tell you that you can't do this because its 2wd and no power steering. Yes its not as easy to steer as a modern rig with those features but unless you are often on soft ground, its workable. Lots of tractors were configured that way in the past.

One suggestion re cost: that loader is going to be expensive. You might be ahead to replace your tractor with one that already has a loader. Out here I'm seeing a lot of YM240's with loader, like mine, sit on Craigslist at $4,000 for a long time before they sell.

And keep in mind that's all your tractor could be sold for, with loader installed.

Thank you for replying, I have given it some thought about getting a tractor with FEL already on it. There is a dealer located within 30 miles of me, I am looking at 4-wheel drives Mitsibitsi, and Branson, and Kobuta. I hate to get rid of my yanmar, as it is very dependable and easy to maintain. I have heard that hydraulics are slow on Mitsibitsi and Branson, while Kobota and JD have very good hydraulics. Decisions......Decisions.....Decisions.

I live up in North Georgia, rock throwing distance from Alabama and Tennessee. There is a dealership, North Georgia Equipment Sales, in Rock Springs & Summerville, Ga., they sale and service Branson, they used to sell Yanmar, but there is a Yanmar factory in Adairsville, Ga., a lawsuit was pending due to territorial rites. I got my YM 2000 from Frederick's over in Hartselle, AL. back in 2001. Also there is a dealership in Armurchee, Ga., they too used to sell / service Yanmar, but lawsuit stopped them also, now they sell Mitsubishi, Iseki and a Korean tractor. I think I am going to research the Mitsubishi a little more, there little 4 cyl. diesel has got my curiotisy up.

If my yanmar ever plays out. I don't think I'll buy another Grey. Branson would be a good tractor. Cummins / Cummins style diesel engine. Dave's tractor (in red bluff ca) is a member here and could probably any questions you may have about Branson tractors

I gave Fredrick's a call about a FEL, a Koyker 80 can be installed on my YM 2000 for 3,195.00. Now I am really puzzled on my decision. Whether to have FEL installed on my trusty YM 2000, or look at a Mitsubitsi 4 wheel drive w/FEL 4 cyl. diesel for around 10,000. I am going to sleep on it!

Unless you have a good parts supplier for the Mitsubishi , I would look at trading ( with fredricks??) your tractor for a 4 WD tractor with loader..... Fredricks has a 2210D listed for 6,699.00 add that same loader $ 3200.00 for $9899.00 less your trade.... You will get a tractor with better parts support (in my opinion) and all the safety equipment and new tires. O' the 2210D is also power shift. Don't know about PS
Don't know if their closer but, fredricks has 3 dealers in Ga. Georgia tractor, Spalding tractor, MEI farm equipment

Good post Kenmac. I confess I didn't know Fredricks refurbished tractors. I thought they just sold them
as they come in the containers. Interesting they are the only "authorized" importer. Wow! I didn't know Yanmar authorized anyone.

Also thinking rjsharp might be better off selling or trading his 2000 for a 4 wheel drive loader tractor. I know 2 wheel drive will work with a loader but having a 4 wheel drive and operating it with or without the front wheel drive is no comparison. Just my 2 cents. :2cents:

Notice the authorization comment in the description of this tractor. Never have seen this before either. :confused3:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yanmar-YM15...=BI_Heavy_Equipment_Parts&hash=item3a89e9eab9
