Ok guys I'm a new Yanmar owner. I want to hear your ups and downs of the YM2200. Hope there is some ups /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif So fare all I have done is some bush hog work. But it seems very strong. The only thing I see wrong is some fluid coming out around the trans shifter boot not alot but some. Is this a problem ? Also the tach and temp hand are not working. Can I get just a gauge at Tractor supply that will work ? Is there a place for a oil presure gauge to install somewhere ?Sorry for all these questions I'm learning as I go. I already changed all the fluids except the trans is there a filter for this somewhere. Thanks for your help I sure need it.

Don't be sad /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif It IS a Yanmar. How bad could it be?

The YM2200 is, in fact, a really good tractor. It does, however, not have a very close US model and is for some reason not very common in the US. It is not one of the easier Yanmars to get parts for- but not impossible either. Honestly, if you do the proper service, check your oil, dont run it into trees, watch your oil and temp light, you should never need parts or never have any problems with it. The 2200 is a very simple-durable tractor.

As for the gauges, the water temp gauge might be a problem as they use a strange metric fitting. Someone might be able to tell you better what size it takes, etc. The oil is easy, just uses a standard oil pressure sending unit. You can replace it with a mechanical gauge if you want. The tach is most likely the cable. Give me a call if you need one. We have plenty.

The fluid around the shifter may be because of too much oil.

Hope that makes you feel better

Check the vent on the transmission. When they get plugged, usually with a dirt dobber nest, fluid finds ways to get out.

depending on what that metric fitting in the block for the water, you may be able to find one that fits at a napa.. just need to know the thread size and pitch.. and then see if one for a regular jd compact works.. as they use yanmar engines..

check out this post (do a search) 386711.
I'm not sure if your block is the same 2 cylinder as the YM2000....
I jnstalled gauges on my 2210D (same engine as 2000 I believe - used same gauge adaptors) easy and cheap - got to actron.com too.
read that post for details.... and search for gauges and you find lots of info /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
