We have been collecting lists of mechanics and shops around the country for the last few years that are happy to work on Yanmar tractors. We have launched a new "finder service" free of charge on our new website. Might be worth a shot.

I live in Harriman, Tn. I have a 1994 yanmar 1300d. I had the place where i bought the tractor to order me everything i need to fix both hubs, which he did (supposedly). The book he had was in Japanese so he really did not know. I have two stripped gears in the hubs. I was looking for someone who knew where to get the right parts and put it together the way it is supposed to be. Any help would be appreciated.

Sorry to break this to you, but your parts isn't the only thing your seller is ignorant (or worse) about. YM1300 goes back to the 1970s, and guessing (as I'm not in the office) I'd say 75-78 or 79. The gears in those front hubs are most likely available only as salvage, and I'd be surprised to find them considering how many requests we see for the same parts. If the place where you bought it can order the parts, any mechanic can fix it; however, I'd be right curious as to where they will order the parts (other than salvage), 'cause I don't know where to get those parts new. Posters here may have suggestions for you to check for salvage. Start with Fredricks 256-773-9951 then check Hoye 940-438-0386 Sounds like best bet may be to try to get your money back and buy another model more easily maintained.

I agree with LMTC. My records show that Yanmar stopped making the 1300D in 1980.

What's the earliest, or least expensive, of the small gray market Yanmar 4x4's that has decent parts support. 1400D? 1401D?

Also is 1500D too old to have front axle parts available?

Someday I may trade down to whatever has FWD and can run a 48" rotary mower as its heaviest task. Any suggestions?

Wayne at LMTC always seems to have a YM1401D on his website /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
So, in my mind, that may be a good model. He services what he sells and probably won't sell something that has no/little parts availability. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

I always have at least one 1401d, too.
Parts are no problem so far. My importer probably gets half a container of 1401d's each time he gets a load. He fills the rest with other models.

California,
The 1500 &1500D have some of the best parts support I think. There are several aftermarket companies that reproduce all or most of the front end parts now. In a month or so, we should have all of the rebuild parts for the 1500D front ends in stock. Much beter than the 1300D/1100D.
