For those of you with YM1500's you know that the 3 point hitch can be a pain when you are connecting or disconnecting an implement. When I take my landscape box off, I have to completely remove the lift arms, until now. I got my hands on a set of tensioners and i modified my 3 point to use with these. See the pictures.

Those are standard on the YM 1700, at least the one I had /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

They're on my YM1700, but they connect to the outside of the arm.

Right on the outside of the arm. But I didn't think they came on the 1500. I would think he sells 1700s too so that is probably where he got the idea.

Of all the tractors I have bought and sold the YM1500's were the only ones that had that oddball setup. I have never had any Yanmars smaller than the 1500's but I think they are 2 point hitch any so they get a 3 point conversion anyway.

I have converted som 2 point Mitsubishi's and Isekis to 3 point and had to run the chains to the inside. The 1500's have a Category I size bar that holds both lift arms and makes an excellent platform to attach the turnbuckles to. On your 1700's and others the turnbuckles are on the outside but they have an attachment point at the end of the axle casting. I didn't have that luxury on this tractor.

I forgot to add in my first post that I used PB Blaster for the first time ever on these turn buckles. It works as good as everyone said.

It sure does work, PB Blaster, that is how I got mine loose. Seemed pretty easy with it.

I removed the oem lift arms on my 1700 and added replacement arms like fords use. I also added some cahin tensioners too.. to keep them outta the wheels with an implement on it.

Thanks Brent. I've been thinking about doing that for a long time. Just out of curiosity, what was your min/max length to the tips of the turnbuckle when adjusted as short/long as possible?

Tks

I will have to take a tape to it. I don't know what the lengths are. I know that they where set at the middle and they were as long as the flat pieces they replaced. I knew that I was going to get better performance regardless of the length. The only down side is that they are on the inside which means I have to adjust them each time I change implements. That sure beats having to take the lift arms off to change them out like I use to!
