Napa 1334 for your oil filter will do, although the Yanmars (filters) are considerbly better.

If it is your fall rate valve (roll pin style handle)it should be removed, cleaned and "O" ring replaced.

Welcome to TBN as you will find out there are many with geat knowledge and experience. Regards Mark

If the leak is on the rear of the Hyd valve, then the oil seal may be bad and needs to be replaced. This is not a hard job, we have the seal if you need one.

NAPA 1064 also works, and is my choice. In a pinch I'll use a Fram PH3593A available at your local Wal-Mart. Make sure you use a diesel rated engine oil. I use Shell Rotella T 15W40, also available at Wal-Mart for around $6.30/gal.

Air: NAPA 6022 (take your old one in to make sure it is the same)

Greg, what brand do you use for trans/hyd oil? I saw some at JDeere for 10.00/ gal, rated for wet brakes and the transmission/ hydraulic system my Yanmar has. Seems I going to be using more of this stuff until I get my leak stopped. thanks, Brett
ps, the leak happened when I backed over a log on a dirt pile. I broke a fitting. Aluminum, arrggghhh.....

I get my hy-trans fluid at Wal-Mart. Last I checked it was around $25 for a 5 gallon bucket. It is JD303 compatible, so should be just fine for wet brakes.

Greg,
I think Yanmar specs JD20A for wet brakes, but it is interesting that the Wal-Mart Hy-Trans is rated both 303 and 20A. I agree it will work fine.

Mark,

I was wondering where you get the info that Yanmar filters are better. A few years ago on the old Yahoo forum there was a post from a Wix representative that they would not make filters for Yanmar since Yanmar's specs weren't up to snuff. That may very well have been incorrect or changed since then. Over the last couple of decades of dealing in the auto and equipment business it seems that is basically boils down to 2 manufactures of filters (oil) Wix and Champ.

Thanks for the ears,
Bruce

Bruce,
I should have said "fit" better - not engineered better.
The generic oil filter is ok, especially with frquent oil changes. My absolute best pick, from personal (and pit crew maintenance) experience is WIX. Have watched one blow from 330 psi oil sump, with oil @ 230 degrees. And all it did was blow bottom from stright to convex and never leaked. That was Richard Schramms Grand National car in '93.
Worked at the parts counter for four years, and never met WIX rep - just an regional rep from Speed Pro, that carried everything from Crane to Wix, but was no expert on filters. Moved to the boonies and now it has been difficult for me to acquire locally so I did not list WIX.
Sometimes I am guilty of whats easy is right. Hopefully not too often, but once in a while.

Never hesitate to correct me or a post if your sure. Some of us make a mistRake on occasion. Regards, Mark
