Hi All,
I had been working on the right side wheel since I needed to fix this leak and see what a "good" wheel looks like. I was concerned over the wobbly left side wheel and wasn't sure what I would find. Took out the stub axle and all looked good. Even had newer sealed bearings. Since once the stub axle is out, you need to pull the knuckle to install the spacer and ring gear back into the unit. As i'm pulling off the knuckle, a wood drift key falls out ? !!! Look again into the wobble and its just the missing key that was the problem. ??!!!! The king pin was turning in the pitman arm.
I really hate cleaning up other peoples messes. My bad for not looking at it closer.
Need to order the seal from Hoye and then i'm done. Expensive repair avoided.
