Hi,
I'm new to this forum but my tractor is old. I bought it used in 98 and haven't had much trouble with it until now. I was having acceleration control problems-engine would run at full throttle and when I tried to slow it down it would stall. Then it stuck at full throttle and I closed the fuel line to kill it. The throttle lever was jammed. Opening the cover where the throttle control entered the timing cover revealed pieces of parts. At this point I'm trying to remove the timing cover. Do I need to remove the fuel injection pump first? I've removed all the bolts on the front of the cover. Should it release or do I need to remove other things? (Service Manual is on order)
Is this timing cover considered part of the fuel injection system that could be taken to a deisel fuel injection repair facility or would they only deal with the pump? Do I even want to pull the timing cover? Any help would be appreciated.
