I have a YM1720D tractor that when I put the tractor in neutral it still wants to pull forward. I can hold it from moving by holding the wheel, but let the wheel go and it want's to move forward. I was told there was an O ring in the valve body that was bad, took it apart but no O ring to be found, What else can it be? any help would be appreciated

Could be just a linkage adjustment.

Really Marv, as a dealer, you need to learn how to fix these things. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif Has the hy/tran fluid been changed and screen cleaned. Sounds like heavy fluid is trying to turn the tranny gears.

There is also a neutral brake linkage that can be adjusted on the clutch pedal side of the housing.

Reed,
There is no neutral brake linkage that can be adjusted on the YM1720D clutch pedal side of the housing.

Sorry, the xx20 series tractors I have had were all larger. They all had it.

It sounds like there is a leaking valve in the control valve assembly. It would probably be helpful to get a Yanmar service manual that would explain how the valve assembly works.

I am unfamiliar with your tractor but assume it has an Hst Transmision.

If so it the forward reverse control may not be centering properly. This has happened to my Kubota. It has an external setting to adjust this. Unfortunetly my problem lies deeper into the system and requires quite a bit of work to get to the part suspected to be causeing the problem. So far I am living with it due to economics.

Hope this may be of some help.
