The left brake pedal on my YM2000 hangs when I use it - that is, it doesn't spring back like it should. I have greased the fittings on the shaft (both sides of the tractor), but it hasn't helped. There is a small plug at the bottom of the chamber through which the shaft goes to get to the other side. It was finger tight, and nothing drained out when I removed it. Is there supposed to be oil in it? It would make sense that there should be in order to lubricate the bushings on the brake shaft through it. If oil is needed, what kind and where do I put it in? If oil is not needed, how do I lubricat the bushings? Or, any other ideas on how to free up the left brake pedal?

Thanks,

It's likely brake dust jamming the brake shaft after it enters the rear axle assembly. You can verify this by unfastening the brake rod from the lever on that shaft.

You can't lube that shaft without disassembly because there is an o-ring to keep water out.

Loosen the fender and swing it back out of the way, then remove the brake enclosure cover to get that shaft out and clean it. About an hour for the whole project.
