I see your point California. I too would advise the guy to go look at it. Look for cracked oil leaking or water rusted block. I would also bring a new charged battery and listen to it crank even if it dosent start you can tell if there is compression of some degree on it. If the shifter would go into the gears and not all bent up, the tires aired up no other sighn of abuse like cracked and welded axles or frame or bent up 3pt , id offer $500 and just see wht he will take, but id buy it and have a project. You can put about $1500 into it before you enen have to worry about making a bad deal.
