If the seal is not pouring you might want to try the Lucas power steering stop leak. Many successful stories with it. Nice looking ride!

Yep, jack up the wheel, and if no wobble from worn bearings, keep topping off with LUCAS PSSL until the leak stops , and check back in about 10 years. It has about the same viscosity as 90wt lube. Good stuff.

Well ....assuming this spent a fair amount of time in a rice paddy...I plan on replacing the seal so I can take a look see in there any make sure we have no funny stuff going on in there.

Should I replace both sides or just whats leaking?

No definite answer, but I had one of mine replaced during warranty period and then I replaced the other one a little while later. No way of knowing, might not leak for 20 more years and might leak tomorrow. There is sometimes something to that old saying "If it ain't broke, don't fix it".

Congrats it looks great you are ready to go to work it looks like!

Just me but I would buy enough seals for both sides and just fix the one for now and you will be prepared if and when the other one starts up.

Just updating this thread.

I bought the tractor, bush hog and back blade for $4K.

Replaced both front seals - there was water in there but the bearings were good and tight.

Added a ROPS, OR clutch, changed all the fluids...Everything looked real clean. I still need to flush the coolant out but have been thinking about updgrading the dynamo and so I decided to wait for the coolant flush. Other than that been working her a bit here and there!

Now turf tires are on order.....and then thats it!

What do you think about trying that on a bush hog gear box?
