Hey Guys, I have a YM2210 I got about a month are so ago and I'm trying to fix it up, it has had a starting problem and doing some troubleshooting, I pulled the injectors #2 had a lot of carbon buildup on it #1 was not bad, cleaned that off and hooked them up upside down to see how they spray, seems like it is not right, not atomized right, what do you think, the cardboard is 12in away, Plus i was thinking my injection pump was not putting out the psi it should,I will get a video of it shortly.
Thanks for your time and help.

It is evident your injection pump is putting up enough pressure to pop the injectors, however, I don't believe your injectors are atomizing like they should, especially the one on the left. Take this as an opinion, not a fact. They are suppose to pop at 2275psi with minimum 1707psi.

I would order new ones & clean the old ones while I wait for the new ones to arrive.

OK i will get new ones, One thing is when i did this test the throttle was in the off position, should it have fuel in the off position?
Thanks for your time and help.

No, should have been full throttle. You shouldn't have got anything unless maybe your tractor has a kill cable and not shut down with the throttle.

I bought injectors for the YM240, $100 each at the local diesel shop after they told me no one rebuilds injectors. Then on here people posted of course injectors are cleaned and put back in service. I suggest check around.

If i was smart thats what i should have done but......... so i did order new ones, i did need some other stuff so i just ordered it ,got them from Aaron, I did take my old ones apart and cleaned them and they look good now,did the 60-deg test with the nozzle to make sure it moves freely, I did find some replacement nozzles that BOSCH has, would have been allot cheaper if thats all i needed.

Doesn't look bad from what I have seen.. How about you're grow plugs, have you verified they are in good working condition? You're spray and FP video's look okay to me.. I would check all else before throwing money at injectors that are in fact spraying.. A little different spray but spraying okay none the less..

I only have the one Thermostart and it works fine. I will hook the injectors up when i get home and see how they spay now after cleaning them.
Thanks for the help.

Those who don't know these engines always mention glow plugs. These as you know don't have true glow plugs. Your thermostart has no bearing on your tractor running once it's running. No diesels glow plugs would unless there maybe loose and leaking compression. The thermostart is in the intake and therefore has no bearing on it running if you can get it running. An even weak engine should be able to be gotten running in the summer without it, esp with the help of the compression release.

I do get fuel when the throttle is in the stop position, looks like that is out of adjustment to.one more thing to fix :cool2:

That's a good point.

So I hooked the injectors up, upsidedown and it looks like one injector is spraying better, the other one is spraying about the same. I will have new injectors tomorrow, so I hope that will help, I'm going to drain the tank change the fuel filter and get some new fuel and hope it will start better, I would like to do a compression test while I have the injectors out but I don't have a gauge to do a diesel, maybe I can rent one, I will just machine an adaptor to hook it up, before I do that I will adjust the valves.

Well I adjusted the valves, man I’m glad I did they were way out of spec.

Hopefully that shut off problem is in the linkage.. if not, the inj. pump is either assembled wrong or it was put on wrong..
When your starting it.. u need to give it some throttle.. at least 1/2..to 3/4..

Yes, most tool loaner places will have a diesel compr. gauge..
the only problem I foresee is, u getting the correct adaptor to hook up the gauge to.. MOST are quick-connects
U can possibly RENT IT from Hoye for a couple of bucks.?? IDK.. but they RENT the inj. removal tool..
I DO KNOW they SELL the adaptor..
YOUR machine "probably" wont exceed 400 psi... but u need a gauge that will accept 500 minimum..
Good luck..

I fixed it with the adjustment on linkage so that is a good thing. You do rebuild this pump right?
