YM2210 injectors, fuel pump, problem??

But he is having runnability issues. We have confirmed it's not the first/filter assembly or the injectors (new ones). The only thing left in this system is the pump. If the thing is not running right, pump is off.. timeing or it's ability to make pressure.

I might have missed it, has he put a pressure gauge in between the fuel pump and IP?

If he puts a pressure/vacuum gauge there, he can check fuel pressure going into the IP, if that checks out probably 7-10PSI then shut the tractor down and watch the gauge to see if the vacuum drops quickly, if it does, he probably has a leak at a clamp/hose before the gauge..

I chased this same issue last summer, I had my injectors serviced, had my IP sent out, replaced my fuel pump to no avail, I found two bad clamps and the o-ring gasket in my fuel cap was broken in half.. All I'm saying is, buy a Gear wrench gauge for $20 before you start throwing parts at it and spending tons of money that doesn't need to be spent..

Theses models are gravity feed to the Inj. Pump. So pressure to the pump Does not apply. A air bubble will break the flow to the pump which breaks the Pumps fuel flow to the Eng. 2 clamps A clear line is all that's needed. On the tank and on the pump. I think a filter inline by CA. came up and I was amazed it didn't have a problem from the Pic. of It. There was a huge air bubble/Pocket in the top of the Filter, Pump side.

Got cha, I don't know enough about this system to help then, good luck..

My pic in post #45, this thread? The output side of that generic temporary filter - inside the element - must have been submerged. It didn't give me a problem.

But you're right, I should have bled that more thoroughly to prevent a potential problem. That's probably air that was in the line downstream from the filter before I connected it.

And as Carey said these are a simple gravity feed from tank > filter > injector pump. These are beautifully simple - and reliable - tractors. No filter in tank, no low pressure fuel pump, no solenoid fuel shutoff. Air bleeder screws at (OEM) filter input, output, and IP input. There's nothing to troubleshoot before the IP, aside from those bleeder screws.

Only thing I would check if you haven't already is to make sure you don't have a vacuum problem in the tank starving it of fuel, open the cap and run it to see what happens..

That is a potential problem with these, if the fuel cap is screwed on tight it will run a couple of minutes then stumble and die. BTDT.

I did have a pressure build up problem so I had to relieve it. There is a return line from the Inj. to the Tank. I had a bad problem with fuel getting blown out of the Tank and leaving a puddle on top of the tank every time I used it. Made a Rubber insert and then seen the small air bubbles still coming out!! My guess is the Return is what is actually pressuring up the Tank. Which ended up to be a easy fix after finding that out. In the Pic. is off a Old ATV. fuel cap. Never even had a fuel issue since and I'm talking Hundreds of Hrs. on the Tractor. Just Reg. Maint..... I can see the Factory Blk. emblem still on the hood. Over 10yrs. easy.

I see others told you. But I thought you meant on injector side of pump. Yea these are gravity fed. There is no lift pump.
