YM226D w Backhoe - Ebay - in Dallas

This Ebay auction ends in a few hours. I PM'd the seller and found it includes a backhoe. Note bad engine.

Thanks. I thought I had seen it described here but couldn't find the post. It didn't occur to me to look in the 336 thread.

Depending on the brand/condition of the backhoe, that alone should be worth $3k or more. I'm surprised the seller didn't post a more descriptive listing. He's leaving money on the table. Like the CL title for the 186D I bought last fall. "Tractor $1'. That was a pretty obscure title, no wonder nobody called before me.

Good: A book that has been read but is in good condition. Very minimal damage to the cover including scuff ...

This is his entire description:
4x4 needs engine rebuilt/ back hole assembly/ disc blade

One photo where the only thing that indicates how well he maintained it ... is the half-flat tire.

And a brand new seller with no feedback. This whole auction is a lesson in how not to list something on Ebay.

This might be a reasonable buy for a Dallas local if the 'rebuild' needed is nothing more than it needs injectors cleaned or something. But definitely a 'buyer beware' situation. With Powershift, backhoe, and disc, that is an attractive model.

You would think he would post a picture of the "back hoe" if there indeed is one. It might be worth as much as the tractor.

I would like to get a hold of a 226D but not that bad. Like California says it could be good project if a guy could get it bought right. But there is a whole lot of info that isn't known and it's to far from me to be practical.

Not for $4000 and needing a rebuild. Backhoe sounds interesting but I don't need one. I also notice the left front tire showing in the picture is mounted with the treads backwards. If it were 30 miles I might drive and take a look but it's right at 130 miles to downtown Dallas. Anybody know what a used backhoe would sell for?

I paid $2500 for my BH, a model that was originally sold with YM240. And the seller could have gotten more if he had advertised beyond his tiny community. In fact I asked him so many questions that he wrote a better ad, and ran it in a big regional CL. By the time I made up my mind he said "You better get up here with your money a day earlier than we were talking about - I'm getting lots of calls".

So ... assuming that bh was actually matched to, and used with, that tractor, then estimate $2500 or more for average condition. More if looks pristine, maybe less if it obviously needs some hoses (which is real common). And a lot less if its incomplete.
