Ym2610 lift arms, can you adjust them

The last request about a 2610 translated manual was back in 2005? Now the year is 2014.

I know of a few good Japaneses engineers where I work. Wonder if getting the Japan manual translated on the side by them could speed things up.

I'm sure you can forget about Translated YM2610 manuals, unless you take on the project yourself.

Well, I notice this is a very old thread. That said, there is a way on some YM series lift arms for adjustment. Look at the upper arms where they attach to the shaft, notice that they are on a spline under the washer. You can adjust to moving the upper arms to any position you need to get the upper or lower travel you need by sliding the arms off the spline and moving up or down, replacing the washer, and test. I wouldn't recommend moving more than one spline tooth at a time, in your case, you need to go down. Test carefully before hooking up the implement, make sure the arms don't run into anything and freely go up and down. I had to do this often when going from a box blade to a post hole digger to get the right position of the digger. Look under those big washers on the end of the arms and the solution will become clear very fast.

I believe the intended way to adjust for a higher or lower lift is to change pin holes in the side links. There are different length side links and note the ones Hoye sells have 3 holes for adjustment. Yanmar Tractor Parts: ADJUSTABLE SIDE LINK

The adjustable side link is usually on one side only and is for leveling an implement or cutting a grade on most. Gross adjustments have to start at the splines on the upper arms. I've seen few tractor of any kind that have adjustable side links on both sides. If doing this, make sure to move only one tooth at a time and keep the arms even. Works great on the YM 3000 I had and my JD 950. ( also yanmar built ) I seam to remember that you can go down at least 3 teeth, up I think is limited to 2 before your lift arms start running into stuff. Moving 1 tooth makes a bid difference where your lift arms are at the bottom, big change. It's helpful to make punch marks on the splined lift shaft and the lift arms before moving the arms ( witness marks ) so if needed you can quickly return the arms to the position they started in.

I installed 2 adjustable side arms on mine ,so I could adjust for a little higher lift or, to get it to lower a little more. This option has worked very well for me

Yes the adjustable side link is usually used only on one side but note the stationary side link sold by Hoye also has 3 pin holes for height adjustment. Yanmar Tractor Parts: Fixed side link Kenmac probably gets even more up/down adjustment by using the adjustable on both sides.

My YM2000b has 2 if not 3 mounting holes in the lower lift arms that give about 1" adjustment per hole, depending on which 1 you use.

That's right Winston, I was able to get more adjustment using 2 screw style side arm than I could using 1 with the 3 holes and 1 that screws. I also have xtra holes in the lower arms. Using 2 of the screw type arms (1 on either side) I was also able to get more tilt from 1 side to the other on my box blade for grading

Any Pics. Of that setup ? I just change side the Screw is on if need be. That always seem to work and easy to do.
