YMG1800D Fluid Leak

Guys,

I was diggin post holes yesterday and noticed a little puddle on the dirt piles (I was backing up after each hole to the next one). Upon further investigation, I see hydrolic fluid dripping from the bottom of the trasfer case. The problem is, I can't find the source of the leak. So, before taking off a couple of large parts to find it I thought I'd post the the "knowledge board" and see if anyone has an idea where I should most likely start to look. Thanks in advance.

I have had a couple of tractors that had a bad hose on the return line. It is in that area. I even had one that the clamp was just loose.

I'm not sure. The whole bottom of the differential/3-point "area" was wet with fluid (sorry I don't know the correct term). My thought was to take off one tire, clean up the whole area and get it dry, refill the resevoir and then start it up and see what got wet again.

I have a YMG1800D right now with a rear wheel seal leaking. It is the second or third 18XX I have had with the same problem.

Forgive my ignorance, but is the real seal where the axle meets the transfer case? If so, this could definately be the problem.

Do you happen to have a front grill for this model for sale? <grin> I posted earlier this year that I had run a 2X4 through it (luckily not damaging the radiator) while knocking down a small building.

The seal is located on the outside of the rear end where the wheel hub meets the support. If it is wet on the rear of the tractor a PTO seal may be your problem. I ordered the plastic bezel that goes around the headlights last spring. It was for a YM1610. I was told it would fit. It would if you change the headlights also. If you need the actual grill several models will fit with some adjustments.
