Just a brief introduction.
I've been lurking here a bit as I researched my first tractor purchase. My wife and I recently moved from a suburban-ish environment to more of a country setting. We bought a log house on just under 5.25 acres and we plan on building a 30x30 barn for several horses and a pony. The land is relatively flat with only a few small trees and a nice size pond in front of the house. Certainly different than what we were accustomed to.
At first I was all set on buying a Ford 8N but quickly realized that it may not be the right way to go so I started looking at new offerings. I have Kubota, John Deere and New Holland dealers nearby. After talking to each of them about what my needs were I found that the JD dealer was the one that I wanted to deal with so then I was on to deciding on a tractor. Budget was certainly a HUGE factor but I didn't want to have to upgrade anytime soon. After much debate and research I settled on a 2320 with FEL (53" bucket) and 62" deck. Now all I have to do is wait for all of the parts to arrive and get it delivered.
That's about it for now. Just thought I'd say "hi" and "thanks" for all of the info I've leeched off of the site so far.
