This morning I opened my garage door to get in my truck, and I looked about 60' away and saw the flashers on my tractor(TC-35D) were on and blinking. I had parked the tractor near a large oak tree the night before after using it and I knew for sure that I didn't leave the lights on.
I went out to the tractor and looked around to see if anything was around that could have hit the rocker switch. Well, there were some deer tracks around, but nothing that looked suspicious. I flipped the switch off and noticed a little speck of a acorn nut cap on the rocker switch.

So the only thing that I came come up with, is a acorn fell and landed just right on the rocker switch and turned on my flasher lights.

What would be the odds of that??? /w3tcompact/icons/wink.gif

I guess anything is possible! I didn't realize those lights would come on if the key is off though. I guess it's like car/truck headlights. That brings up a question. Why do car/truck headlights come on when the key is off? Instead of putting a buzzer on it, why didn't they just set it up so the lights go off when the switch is turned off?

Gary:
When I'm out at the lake acorns are always falling on my head or in my glass as I'm sitting watching an evening fire. But they haven't turned on my tractor lights yet.

Gary, I didn't have any acorn or squirrels trying to operate my tractor, but one night this spring, I didn't put my tractor under the big oak tree where I normally park it. Overnight there was a little storm and the next morning, there was a big oak limb (8"diameter) laying right where I normally park my tractor. Like Thomas suggested, I bought a whole fist-full of lottery tickets. But shucks! My luck was all used up./w3tcompact/icons/frown.gif/w3tcompact/icons/laugh.gif

I had a similar experience with finding flasers on but my tractor was under cover in my shed! I looked carefully and found dirty cat paw prints on the seat and dash. I guess the cats like driving the tractor as much as I do!

Set a little kid up on your tractor and watch 'em, just for fun. I set a friend of mine's two year old on mine and in fifteen seconds her hand had touched every switch and handle on it. I mean EVERY! She found stuff it took me two days to find. The flashers were first.

How about finding a racoon curl up in the seat sound to sleep. /w3tcompact/icons/shocked.gif

It's not raining water around these parts it is acorns too!
Quite dangerous as they pile up on the hillsides and the ground being so dry, they are like marbles.

Good you did not leave town for a while. eh?
