We have a Tornado shelter in our basement..concrete over steel roof with all concrete walls and steel door that opens in...it would also serve as a fallout shelter if needed.

Did any of you ever see the TV series " Jerico " ? It was about domestic terrorists that set off nukes in about 8 American cities..I hated it when they took it off the air and always wondered why..anyone ever see it ? It showed one community pulling togeather after the bomb.

Yes, I thought Jerico was awesome. If any disastor that big happens it will probably be a asteroid or what ever any way.

I say if you can afford it and it makes you feel better, then go for it.
Plus, someday your son will be 17 and he could promote the shelter as a great tourist destination for his female friends.
I wish I'd had one of those shelters when I was a teenager.
