Eddie, I was going down the road today and thought about you, and my mirror orientation...
The left mirror I just swung over, and rotated the mirror to focus. (From the photo it really looks like my post where the fire extinguisher is mounted blocks my view...but that's just the camera angle. I can see behind me fine.)
The right mirror I took off and moved to the other side of the exhaust pipe and refastened it, then focused it. Been doing heavy shredding in and around trees every day, and those mirrors are still pointed the direction I aimed them.

It's nothing more than fact, is all...
You pay more for a cab tractor, and it's worth more on the used market, no matter how old it is, than an open station model of the same ilk.
I have followed that philosophy with 4 wheel drive on a pickup for a long time, and the same holds true. The values bear out that philosophy pretty well, even over time.

I tried spinning them sideways, but that was a lot worse. Seemed like a great idea. Oh well.
I adjusted them just outside the pillars, but as close to the pillars as I could get them and still see the mirror. I think that's as good as it's going to get for me.

I don't have to mess by trees often, but clamped a pair of smaller (flat glass) mirrors to the grab handles to better see the outer edges of blades and mowers.
They're quite a bit farther in than the factory mirrors and have never been knocked out of position.

I actually had my barn built to clear a cab... So if I change my mind, it will fit.
Likely the next tractor will be a Farmall 856 open station though.

I know that I'm repeating myself, but having gone from three tractors without a cab, and recently getting a tractor with a cab, I'm still amazed at what I can get done with the cab.
I got home on Friday at 3pm. It was 96F and very humid. The type of air that hurts to breath when you are in the full sun. I had two choices in what to do, stay inside my house and relax, or get in the tractor and mow for a few hours before dinner.
I kept the AC fan on level 1 the entire time. I listened to the radio, and I cleaned up an area that I hadn't touched since Spring.
When I was done, I felt great. No bug bites, not sweaty, no fatigue, and best of all, I was very productive on a day that I would not of done anything if I didn't have a cab tractor.

I've been doing some cleanup and organizing that's been long overdue. It amounted to trimming dead lower branches of some pines I planted 34 years ago and removing lots of stuff that they grew over and concealed. This generated at least a dozen loads of biodegradable material that had to be hauled to the fence row and dumped. I'll admit to driving very slowly on those trips with the A/C running
