Exactly!

Some of those cop shows...I swear, there's more ammo expended in one show than what I've shot in a lifetime...and that includes my military service! And then a little while later I'll those same actors on the "news" espousing gun control. HELLO!

Agree. Very hypocritical.

This might possibly help one of you. Back in early summer 2023 I had a urinary infection, they gave me Cipro. It made my lower legs, ankles and feet swell up. I couldn't wear my work boots all summer, just old shoes. Plus I got mild sick, dizzyness and nausea.

. Look it up on the net, some percentage of people over 65 years old can have problems with Cipro.
cipro makes me nauseas.

I turn 77 tomorrow. I know I’m getting old. Some arthritis, aches and pains, slightly high blood pressure but low cholesterol.

I don’t do as much as I used to but I still get up on the tractor and maintain my roads. This weekend I installed a reverse osmosis system and installed a 50a outlet for the grandkids new EV charging when they visit. They were last weekend and had to go for an hour to charge their car. Can’t afford to lose an hour when they only visit 3 or 4 times a year. I’m glad I still have the knowledge and skills to keep up.

I’m not planning on going anywhere soon, but who knows.

when it's a competition between your friends who takes the most drugs (prescription) and who's pains are the worst, who has the most Doctors, who has the best prepaid funeral plan, You've decided what everyone gets in your will and nobody really wants it.
You're the cranky old guy in the hood.
You know how to rebuild a carburetor. You also know what it did/does.
The Oldies station doesn't play your music anymore.
All your childhood family pictures are getting yellowed.
You're the only one that can name the adults in those pictures.
You remember when $150/week was a good pay check.
Getting off the party line and having a private line was a big deal.
A TV with remote was high tech.
A fridge and electric stove and maybe an electric mixer was a modern kitchen.
You got your hot water to wash yourself and the dishes from the hot water tank on the side of the wood stove.
To do laundry your mother had to start a fire outside to heat the water and carry it in with a bucket.
You took a bath once a week.
You had no idea what McDonald's was.
Automatic transmission in your car was a big deal.
You remember when Ford, GM and Chrysler were the dominant car makers.
You know what AMC made.
A computer took up the whole floor of an office building and didn't really do much.
You're on a first name basis with the pharmacist.
Anybody under 40 is too young to be doing that.
You run into childhood friends who are out with their grandchildren.

That makes more sense, the way you'd phrased it you made it sound like the DVR part was that much. I knew Direct Tv was pricey, but didn't realize it was that much.

I injured my back in my 40s lifting something wrong. A couple herniated discs. Had a p/t job in the late 90s/early 00s working at a supermarket unloading and breaking down the delivery a couple mornings a week. Lots of lifting and stacking. Found I felt a lot better at the end of my shift. Must have done some good...back hasn't bothered me in years.

What is public tv (and radio's) fascination on British programming? Is it that the BBC accent somehow implies that they're smarter than the average bear? Can't get into most of that myself.
I tried to watch a British movie on Netflix recently and gave up when I couldn't understand what they were saying. I don't know why they can't speak English.:D

You need to turn on the subtitles. ;)

You need to turn on the subtitles. ;)
That is not for me, if I am going to read then give me a book. Watching a movie I want to focus on what is happening on screen NOT the distraction of trying to keep up with the words at the bottom. If a movie/show comes on with subtitles for more than a few seconds I find something else to watch.
