You Know You Are Old When

This is my dad, 2 of his relatives and another worker repointing the 897 windows on the PP&L building in Allentown PA. July 1946.

Handing from the roof on simple bosons chairs. Scary!

Those guys were a man's man. Hat's off to anyone that could go out the window of a building that tall.

I read an article recently about guys that clean modern skyscraper windows and might be a hundred stories high. I wouldn't even take the elevator that high.

A tip 'o the hat to anyone like that.

At least that's a good gig for someone who likes to get high on the job.

I wonder if they occasionally get a good peep show

I'd go for new knees, I have partial, inside left.
I'm sure that's in the cards at some point, father had 'em, both sisters too. Been too busy lately to take a couple months off for recovery.

You are old if you know when and how to use your blinker lights?
So I followed an old duffer for a couple miles today with his left blinker on and then he turned right. In a way, I expected it.

I did the jackknife thing for too long but recently had a winch mounting plate and winch installed on my trailer. I have a separate battery I use for power and clips to attach.
The cradle and winch are from Harbor Freight because it rated among the best. The cradle slides into a receiver hitch stub so I can remove or install as wanted.

Life is too short to hand winch anything up onto a trailer or take the risk of a jackknife trailer adventure.
Same. In fact, I'm re-working my winch rig now, moving the batteries (2x Group 39) to rear of trailer, to remove some of the associated tongue weight.

Depends on what you do, but I was on a cane in 2 1/2 weeks. I had in house therapy twice a week, then twice a week in town.
