Another singer who is old is Mick Jagger.
I've always been a Stones fan but his latest (Angry) really shows that it's time to hang it up. I understand that he needs money to support all of his kids, but maybe he could write his memoirs or something.

I saw the Stones in concert 58 or 59 years ago.

I was with a coworker who had the local staion on, which has been pop country for 45 years or longer. A song came on and as it played I said "when did they stop playing country?"
They didnt.
I have never cared for Garth Brooks, Clint Black or most of the other singers from that time period but at least they were country singers.

Garth Brooks is great in concert. He is an entertainer.

Did you know his original Thunder Rolls music video was banned on Country Music TV due to violence? He says it paved the way for Martina McBrides Independence Day.

I didn't really start listening to country until roughly the early-ish 90s. Was always more of a rock guy, but it got so I didn't really "get" modern rock music anymore. Would have been in my early 40s at the time. Didn't really care much for Garth either but many of that generation of country singers had some rock influences so the transition wasn't a big deal.
For the most part the old school country doesn't do much for me, though there are some individual songs or artists I like.

How about 60 years ago. Pumped gas for under 25 cents a gallon, checked oil, washed windshield and air up tires.
