You Know You Are Old When

When I was in high school it was a fad to carry your pen/pencil in your back pocket, wedged in next to your wallet and that's just stuck with me thru the years. Always found it annoying to have pens, etc. in a shirt pocket. Seemed every time you'd bend over they'd fall out.

I did the same with pens in my back pocket. Poked holes in a couple of car seats though.

I've been mostly retired now for the last 12 years, so it's not that important what time it is.

I disagree, I've also been retired, time is very important!
It's wintertime now (right?).

The first time I flew in a commercial plane at a major airport, I walked out the unlocked door of the terminal, through an unlocked chain link gate in a 4’ high fence and climbed up the stairs to the plane.

The next time that I fly in a commercial airline will be the first time.

At this point the only way it'll happen is if they let me bring my socket set on board. If a wing starts falling off in midflight I want to at least have half a chance of fixing it.

The first time I went through airport security, I took my 4" Buck knife out of the belt holster and put it in the basket to be scanned. The attendant gave it back to me.
