Good advice, esp. considering how much evidence we have of human nature being the opposite, folks getting "old and cranky".

Heck, I was young and cranky, never tolerated fools or jerks. I've become a little more tolerant in my old age, it just isn't worth the effort to try to make them see the light.

I can honestly say I never did, all I cared about was/is reliability.

Well heck I'll often open the rear slider window so I can hear the hemi exhaust notes at times, especially on a grade or leaving a stop sign.

Yeah, you're just living in a whole different world, though. I never pull trailers over 7000 lb.

I used to work part of every year in Germany and always had to hear those guys laugh at us Americans for buying high-horsepower vehicles, back when most of their Autobahn system was still totally unregulated for speed. They'd always say, "you can't even drive faster than 55 mph, what's the point in having 500 horsepower when you can't even use it???"

I'd have to remind them that 1) our speed enforcement is pretty lax, and 2) I can still get from 0 to 55 mph in quite a hurry. The accelleration is the fun part, more than blasting down a straight stretch of highway at 200 mph.

I wonder how recreational drug users will fair?

Recreation is just that. Recreation. Like having a few drinks on Saturday night. Over use of anything will take its toll.

We've all heard stories of or even know centenarians that have a nip or two every night. That's recreational use in my mind. I know quite a few people that use gummies on the weekends. I doubt it will take a toll on their overall lifespan. Probably worse is the restaurants that they go to frequently... to much rich food.

Anyhow, a long-term case study would be needed, I'd guess.

I believe Willie Nelson is in his 90s, but he’s probably an exception to how most recreational drug users end up.

I don't see Willie as recreational, if the stories are true.
