I never acquired a taste for beer. I always gagged when trying to drink it until a couple of trips dirt biking in Baja where I was warned not to drink the water. I might have a couple of Corona a year since then. I don't gag on other brands anymore but still don't like it.

Today is my anniversary for quitting drinking 32 years ago.

I quit "drinking" drinking when I was 24, and went about 25 years before I could have 1 beer with a pizza. Maybe 2 if it was a big pizza. I doubt I have 18 beers a year. But I do like the taste. I'll also have 1 rum and coke at a wedding or celebration. That's about it.

j/k... I love a good beer or cocktail here or there, but never had any problem with drinking. I know some really struggle with it.

When my mother in-law was on an organ donor wait list, my father in-law, who averaged about 8 beers per day for 50+ years went cold turkey because he said he'd feel really guilty if "the call" came for his wife's organ transplant and he was drunk and couldn't take her to the hospital. Very admirable. So he switched to O'Doul's. And he stayed off of alcoholic beer until she recovered fully, about 1.5 years. She finally told him she'd be OK and he went back to regular beer, but not nearly as much or as often.

Generic beer!! I remember that, it was kind of a fad in the early 80s. Pretty nasty stuff, wasn't around very long.

I've pretty much lost my taste for it over the years, but it was about the only alcoholic beverage I could drink. Hard liquor/mixed drinks do not agree with me at all.

Shaws does that here. You need to go online and "reserve" the items you want and then reference an associated phone # at checkout. I find this to be really sleazy, making you jump thru hoops to get advertised sale prices. This is even worse than so-called loyalty cards, at least you don't need to pre-reserve them.
I realy hate these kind of games. If they weren't the only supermarket within an hour+ drive of me, I wouldn't shop there.

After driving all afternoon I once went to a Shaws someplace in NH to get my week's groceries and judiciously chose based on budget- then realized that I had been using their "special" price. So I put everything back and went to Hannafords or whatever they were at the time and bought comparable items for the same price without giving them my personal info.
