I think the T-Rex mount would look good on the North wall next to the buck that my wife shot. Then she would quit smirking at me and be humbled by my manly hunting abilities. Hey, I wonder how a possum would look on the wall, since T-rexes are very elusive, got to contemplate this one.

I don't think the possum is going to stop the smirking and accentuate your "manly hunting abilities." :D:D:D:D:D

But you are welcome to try just as long as your report back with the results..... :):):):):)

txdon,
we have Bobcats in our neck of the woods, a good viable population. However they are very elusive and sightings are rare.

We also have something that the DNR says does not exist, Cougars. I have seen one while sitting in the deer stand and a local feller struck and killed one of these extinct animals with his car. The picture is a prominent display at the local barber shop. Also have seen a Gray Wolf (DNR also says there are no Wolves in Illinois) while in the stand, starting to wonder if I will see a T-Rex as they are also reported to be extinct.

Yup! There has been wolves sighted in Southern Wisconsin. They have tracked one here up and found the western Canada in 18 months later. I live in an area where they released them and they have really taken off. In fact the DNR says there only 500 in the state, but I think that number is really low. Some places here they (DNR) tell the bear hunters not to run dogs at all.

I lived in WV, Fla, and Wi. The DNR says no ya saw a bobcat! I have two reliable friends that have seen them here. When I lived in Fla I saw on 2 occasions a Fla black panther. It was all black and a spotlight on it at night you could see leopard spots. Once my dad and I surprised it beyond the garage. Boy, did we and that cat run! I grew up thinking they were black and I knew what I saw.

In fact returning to visit in Fla I saw a DNR show with native animals. After the show I spoke to the DNR officers and said that was not a native panther. I got interesting to say the least! They did note where the sightings were and contact me weeks later. They did contact locals and people that I knew that saw it also. The said what I saw a hybrid panther. One that was a descendant of a black panther/leopard (probably escaped from circus) and the native Florida panther.

We have a lynx around here and it is big. The size of a big dog. I have been "screamed" by it twice. It is the most evil "cry" you ever hear, makes all the hair stand on your back of your neck.

No T-rexs yet, I'll keep ya posted!:D
