Yes it had a different cast but I believe the main character "Ralphie" was played by the same young actor, Peter Billingsly. I could be totally wrong on this as it has been a few years since I saw it. It was definitely not as good as the first.

One sequel was "My Summer Story", originally released as "It Runs in the Family" in 1994.
There was also one called " Ollie Hopnoodle's Haven of Bliss" released in 1988.

That's the one I was thinking of.
Charles Grodin stars as Ralphie's father, and one of Macaulay Culkin's brothers plays the role of Ralphie.

I remember seeing it on one of the cable networks like USA a couple years ago, but I don't remember too much about the plot.
