Young Guns on Tractor By Net

We've got some "young guns" on here. CompactTractorFan and Johndeere3720 just to name a couple owner/operators.

These enthusiastic young guys are 15 years old. They are quite knowledgeable and are very well mannered in their postings. They always post in respectful tones about their parents and other family members. As one who can barely remember being 15 years old, frankly, I salute them.

When one thinks about all the negative and destructive things young people can get themselves entangled with these days, these guys are finding a way to walk a straighter path. I hope they are working on their homework with equal commitment. :)

Best regards,

I totally agree BP.

It's refreshing to see young people getting so much out of life....and giving so much back also.

You young guys are an insperation.
Bill

Oh how I wish I was a young 15 year old again. It's been almost 8 years since then. I'm 22 now. I turn 23 March 8th.

Enjoy your young days while they last. I'm 7 years off from being 30.

Oh my I'm talking like an old man. (No offense to old men)

I went into the convenience store last summer to buy some beer. I asked don't you need to see my drivers license? The lady said no I thought you were at least 40.

I didn't think I looked 40. :) When I was a teenager, I always wished to be 18. Now I wish I could be 15 again. (Ain't that funny?)

:D:laughing::D:laughing:

and be careful what ya wish for...when I was a teen I wished to be 6 ft 200 lbs. Well, I'm still 6ft, but in no danger of only being 200
lbs :)

I have to say I am glad to see the "Young Guns" take part in the forum. I always learned a lot from rubbing elbows with good men as I was growing up. Men that would take the time to point you in the right direction. I think this says a lot about the group as a whole. That the majority here like to see the next group of young men and women doing well. I might add that the
"Young Guns" are a breath of fresh air. Glad the the group makes them feel welcome.

Sadly with the demise of small farming operations, most young men and women are no longer exposed to farming/tractors etc. I grew up in a rural area where most of my school mates drove tractors, even some of the "city kids" drove farm equipment for gas and insurance money.

Even if a kid grows up on a farm, chances are there is a monstrous 8000 Series John Deere or bigger being used and they don't get a chance to operate it, or if they do, they are pretty old before they get the chance.

My sons didn't grow up on a farm, but they were on one every weekend cutting wood, clearing brush or operating some type of machinery. I made sure they knew what a hard days work was and to value good honest hard work.

We don't farm for a living now, but you will find my sons ages 31 and 41 on one of our farms pretty often improving our property for wildlife, erosion control and recreation.

I am tickled to death to see these "Young Guns" and even not so young ones who find pleasure and self satisfaction working.
