LPS is not silicone spray. It is petroleum derived. J

Only used MMM twice, but added the sheild to oil filter just incase it does happen. You know, free steel to protect a $18.00 filter/ $$$$ trans. Added pic of it.

Hello,
I have about 85 hrs on my BX 22 so far with only a few hrs spent using the 60 In MMM, the drive shaft seems to be ok so far, but having read of other peoples problems with the shaft coming off I always make real sure the collar has snapped in place. As far as the hydro pedal goes, it seems to be ok to, I have greased it a couple of times I guess as a preventative measure.

I have posted in the past that my shaft came loose after backing over a small hump which the MMM dragged. I felt a vibration and shut her down. I finally found the PTO shaft was not locked in place so I pulled it off. The bearings had came out which rendered the shaft useless. I had mowed about 4 acres before this happened so I believe I had it locked in place correctly. At any rate my dealer gave me a whole new shaft no questions asked. After that experience I try to remember to raise the MMM when in reverse.

Well, I've got 220 hours of mostly mowing on a 2001 model, and I've never had the deck off, and this is the reason. After hearing of the problems others have had, and the amount of damage that can be caused, I prefer to work on the deck while it's still on the tractor. Maybe we should be looking at some type of shield around the mid-pto to protect the tractor if it does come off, either because of a design flaw, manufacturing defect, or failure to get all the way back on.

Mine sticks very badly, called the dealer, and he told me to clean it with braker cleaner, and then re-lube it. This has not worked, so it will be going back soon. I can deal with it, but my daughter drags the pastures with a chain harrow, and I don't want this problem to bite her. Clearly some type of design flaw.
