Your favorite .22 rimfire target rifle

my favorite has to be a Winchester model 1890
...this is a .22 (short only) pump rifle with an octagon barrel...it is deadly accurate with only the original iron sights...

also know as a "gallery gun" as similar rifles were used on carnival midway shooting galleries

my grandfather won this rifle on a .25 cent punchboard...

You beat me to this one. I have the same gun and love it. I didn't know about the "Gallery Gun" part. Thanks for putting that out. This gun is my first choice for varmets inside the buildings. For things a little futrhur out I like my Ruger 25-06.

If just plinking & casual target shooting I like my Clerke custom 10/22 - very accurate & fun for everyone to shoot with most any ammo. For more serious paper punching my Win 52B bull with 8x Unertl can't be beat when using Wolf Match Extra. My Win 52C bull with Lyman Junior Targetspot comes close, but can't seem to group quite as tight as the 52B.

For the rifle I would nominate my Belgium Browning 22.
For the handgun the Ruger Mark II is hard to beat.

I've got an older Anschutz/Savage with a bull barrel that's been shortened a couple inches and made into a .22 silhouette gun. Nice slick action and nice trigger too. Some day it may get bedded, but it shoots well to begin with.

For a plinking/squirrel gun I've got an old Vostok bolt repeater, from the bad ol' days of the USSR. My own piece of the cold war era. It's crudely built but shoots very well for a Russian gun.

I have a few 22's....and all of 'em are fun to shoot....but I like accuracy over volume shooting.

I have a Stevens Favorite.....an old falling block 22 with buckhorn rear sight. Fun to pick-off red squirrels with CB caps (and I don't upset the neighbors). I like this gun to teach kids how to shoot. Makes 'em understand how stuff works.

I enjoy my Remington 522T target rifle. Nice "sporter" sized with medium weight barrel, nice stock, and 4-14x scope. Shoots where you aim it.

Another vote for the 10/22 Ruger,mine has a stainless bull barrell, 4x scope with sub-sonic ammo will shoot in one ragged hole at 50 yards.I also have a Winchester 69A that shoots real well for a $20.00 investment in 1970.
Pistol.. Smith&Wesson 2206 stainless with a six inch barrell that shoots better than I can hold it.

I have an old Winchester 52 made in the late '30s. Its a little bit beat up on the outside from years of handling, but boy does it shoot. Not only is it superbly accurate, but it's dimensions are similar to other full size center fire rifles so it just feels right.

The rifle would be my Ruger 10/22 pre-warning which I got as a wedding gift in 1964. If you live in a state such as I do that does not allow more than a ten shot magazine, get a TRI MAG coupler and two more stock Ruger 10 shot rotary magazines for thirty shots of fun!
The pistol would be my slightly older .22 Ruger Single-Six with the interchangeable magnum cylinder. Hammer back, bang, hammer back, Bang.

If I could only have one .22 in a rifle, it would be my Winchester 60a.

I'm starting to sound like my dad when I say kids today don't know what it's like to only have one shot.

I think of that Winchester a lot different than I do of that Remington.

I shoot 10/22 but this 452 would be my choice if I felt I need something more accurate.
