Well maybe not all of you, but if you live close to Needville TX or happen to be planning a road trip 4/21/07 that brings you close to Needville (45 min southwest of Houston city limits). Get in touch with me for more info. Old fashoned country picnic. Cajun band, accordian player, two horshoe pits, bicycles to ride, small fishing hole, hiking, four hammocks, two hammock swings, fire pit, hay ride, campfire cooking demo (how to cook in a cardboard box) and even a bonfire after sun set. Contests and prizes for: Tree counting/estimateing, best country dress, longest trip to get here, log rolling, best dancers and what ever else I can come up with. Bring a coverd dish, your favorite drinks and a chair. We supply meat, fixens, hardware and trash cans (actually I just nail trash bags to trees). Gate open at Noon and closes when last guest leaves. Overnight accomodations for a few, first ask, first get. Commerative tee shirts for first X to arrive. There will be a jar for donations to BSA troop putting on the campfire cooking demo. If interested, email barbobranch@wt.net.

We can't make it, but it sure sounds like allot of fun. Good time of the year to have it too!! Everything is in bloom here, and it's just gonna be better by then!!!

Hope you have fun but we are expecting the Grandkids to visit that weekend. We haven't been down Hwy 36 in a long time, it would be interesting to see the changes.

If I left today I might make it on time, not sure the wife would appreciate going though. Love to be there though.

As per mapquest:
Total Est. Time: 39 hours, 11 minutes Total Est. Distance: 2520.64 miles

Those last .64 miles.... that would be the killer!! LOL.......sounds like a great time! My brother in law is now retired and travels a lot, he always looks forward to returning to Texas to spend several months there. Makes it sound like the place I want to frequent in my retirement years!
