Form the UK so probably not much relevance but thought you'd like to see how I do it:

Landrover Defender 110 with 300tdi engine.
Tractor is a 1947 Fordson Major E27N, petrol / Paraffin.
Trailer is borrowed from a friend of mine.
My current trailer is a Richardson Beavertail 14ft plant trailer

Awesome Defender! Why can't we get those over here!

A few of the trailer I'm selling. Consolidating to one dump trailer, should be here in 2 weeks.

Here's my rig. 2013 Tacoma v6 with tow package and a weight distributing hitch. Around 5900# trailer plus tractor.

Taco does excellent pulling it.

I pulled a 20' travel trailer about 1400km round trip to the mountains this weekend. Used a borrowed 2011 F150 Ecoboost screw. All I can say is "Wow" that ecoboost does pull as good and better than ford claims. I was planning on a diesel F350 for my new truck next year, but now I think ecoboost is the way!

Spindifferent: What have you attached your tow straps to. I have a similar sized tractor and a 2011 Tacoma 4x4 with a tow package and was about to haul mine on a buddie's 14' car hauler.

Straps are connected to the rear drawbar on the back, and to the axle on the front.

Had these custom straps made (very happy with them):

CustomTieDowns.com - Car Axle Straps

CustomTieDowns.com - Car Hauling Tie Downs

The axle straps are 3ft long and the ratchet straps are 8ft long. All straps and hardware are 3333 lbs working load limit. Axle straps wrap completely around the axle.

There are two clevis pin/clip units on the drawbar, one for each strap. Similar to this:

CountyLine® Straight Clevis Pin & Clip, Standard, S49010600 - Tractor Supply Online Store

And then I added G70 safety chains. :)
