thank you for your kind words.

I think I have an idea (insert light bulb image here)

I have a recipe for a very tasty cinnamon coffee cake (attached as word file) that I grew up with as my Mom made it.

I'll make them 4 at a whack just to specifically give 1 or 2 away.

I think I have a clue as to my next recipient

Hmm..can't attach a word document, so am copying here for anyone that might be interested.

350º 40/45 minutes, depending on oven

(single recipe I ALWAYS double it)

1 Cup Sugar
1 Stick Butter
2 eggs

1 Cup Sour Cream
1 Teaspoon Baking Soda (mix these together separate and add in AFTER it swells up some)

2 Teaspoons Vanilla
2 Cups sifted flour less 2 tablespoons (never have done ANY of that, just shortchanged it a bit)
1/4 Teaspoon Salt
1 Teaspoon Baking Powder
1 Cup coarsely chopped Walnuts

Sugar/Cinnamon mix on top prior to baking

Goes into Angle Food pan.

Wish I had some of that cake right now! I've had a craving for something sweet all night and this sounds GOOD! Since my wife died I've learned to cook a lot, and I'll give this a try. Thanks, John

( A friend of mine was selling his house. Offers came in but short of what he was asking. He waited. Finally, he got a bid that was "close". An hour before the closing, they all met at the office to finalize the sale. 15 minutes later, 45 minutes away from signing, an offer for $5,000 more came in. What would you do? )

Well, since no one has responded, I guess it doesn't matter.

Apparently with this house sale, a contract was accepted by your friend. I don't think there was much he could do unless he wanted to be sued. As for what I would do? That's easy. I accepted someone's offer, and I would honor it. $5,000 just isn't enough money for me to compromise my principles. I'm not sure how much that would take or even if it's possible. I'll probably never know. John

I, for one, have gotten tired of certain nonsense. I am going back into hibernation. It gets old having to defend your every word when certain other people just want to beat this old dead horse one more time. To me, it just isn't worth it. /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif
