I don't get people watchng other people with nothing special about it. I like to learn something or see something unique. Watching the Wilsons Brush their Teeth, and cut firewood, holds no appeal.

SV Delos. Was great until Brian and Karen hopped off to go have a baby. Recent episodes have been a little immature. If you have any interest in sailing or travel, it’s a fun watch, with almost 300 episodes in the bank.

For personal inspiration & sanity, anything from Jordan Peterson.

For entertainment, anything from Ken Block.

Most of my watching is streamed on Britbox, Acorn TV, Netflix, or Prime. That can burn up 3-4 hours/week of my time.

As I TRY to downsize my metal shop, I've kinda drifted away from Fenner, Rucker, and Booth, even missing out on Big Dog Forge.

1) Joerg Sprave shows us how how 'high tech' is centuries old. If you like Mike Loades, this guy will add to you learning fun.

2) Weld.com has a young guy with a beard fetish, and Bob Moffat is as watchable as Jody!

3) I would be remiss not to have included Hunting With Stu by now. Hunting with Stu

If I'm going too fast to 'follow' anyone, I'm running from 'friends' I recognize by their palms.

I often watch what you tube sends me on apple TV. I am not subscribed to anything, never like anything, or any other pavlovian behavior.

Recently watch a lot pf Periscope films. Old B&W stuff. Saw yesterday how Chrysler (DODGE DIVISION) built the Sperry Gyro Compasses during the war.

I generally watch what I need to learn something as needed. Youtube has been a godsend for learning how to work on things, take them apart without breaking them, and such. However, I don't watch anyone on a regular basis. No one is that interesting! I pay no attention to the social or business aspects of Youtube and do not support them.

I will head down the rabbit-hole on topics and have enjoyed learning new ways of looking at things, have learned so much about various animal husbandry, different animal management methods and techniques from free range to mob grazing to feed lots and everything in between. One day I stumbled upon Joel Salatin and enjoyed looking at things differently from how I had. That led to 100s of hours spent reading, watching, and learning about his ideas and methods, among many others. Fun stuff!

There are non-farm related topics that are fun sometimes. One time I found Symbols of an Ancient Alien Sky (Symbols of an Alien Sky (Full Documentary) - YouTube) that describes a cool theory of what ancient solar systems might have been going through and what civilization might have been witnessing. Fun stuff to take the mind away from the day to day while still stimulating thought.

I think that if you let internet sites send you suggestions, you can get easily overwhelmed. I think it is best to search for what you want (duckduckgo.com), and try to avoid the distractions. Not easy, I know.

It does a pretty good job though and doesn't overwhelm me with the same stuff. I might not see a Gold Rush Episode for months and then get a few. Then it was highway thru helll episodes. A while back they were suggesting all kinds of full length movies, but that ended. Curious how that all works. I really can't complain. "TRENDING" I never even look at.

You know that you aren't obligated to watch their suggestions, right? You can pick and choose.

... when a page is so full of click bait that you can't find a search bar...

Nearly all the sites I go to are on my bookmarks bar. Tech, dealer, or hobby-category ones I 'archive' are in 'other bookmarks'. My home page isn't too bad:

btw, I didn't tuck 'BitMeter' very neatly for the screenshot. It's box is always in the way of something in that corner, and here an older version. I recommend it as a lightweight but versatile up/down throughput monitor. I have to click once on the taskbar to get this other 'window' on slow performance.

No way 'digital' should keep us waiting.
