Oh, I'm far from a neat freak, tractors were made for dirt. However, considering how hydraulics don't exactly like gravel etc. someone with a well thought out plan would have cleaned everything up before disconnecting the lines. /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Re: You\'ve warped me!

Picture of the reworked number on the second pump. It had a code corresponding to the primary pump usage; but had the "D" stamped over it.

Not a big deal, but sure confused me when I was trying to read it with a mechanic's mirror [before I took the pump out].

Also, I downloaded a large pdf. [too large to post here, but let me know if you need it] on the Casappa Polaris line. I can't remember which site actually had it, but I searched all over - even stumbled across Sedgewood's site with his rebuild lists. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Re: You\'ve warped me!

OK, I said, 2 motor spools with detent would be ideal, but for the same price I found this three spool with a "On" detent on #3 and a "Free" detent on #1; that leaves one w/o detents for an accesorry cylinder. The description, double acting, is what I want and the schematic matches that for #3, but for #1 and #2 doesn't look typical (the "Free" section on #1 makes sense though). Anyone recognize the single arrow notation?

Re: You\'ve warped me!

Think I just realized the answer: the're just drawing it to more correctly show the flow from #1 to #2 to #3. But if I'm wrong, please correct me! /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Re: You\'ve warped me!

Ordered; 3 business days shipping time!

I am now officially NUTS and will most certainly need a good amount of TBN-PT counseling (or consoling? /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif ); of course I think that's what got me to this point in the first place! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'm near positive my interpretation of that valve is right, but think I'll put some air to it first so I can send it back if I'm wrong.

Breakdown
$300 pump (it will handle high volume and/or pressure [currently 15gallons @ high {3000psi} pressure]; but now I will have some undersized hoses at full throttle; I can at least test everything before upgrading those).

$200 valve (3 double acting spools)

$100 for misc. fittings and shipping.

wife killing me by hydraulic hose strangulation or multiple blows to the head with blunt (pump, valve....) objects; well, priceless /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif The fact it cost double what I originaly projected isn't even as bad as the fact I'm going to need 4 hands about 5times as much as she originally hoped!

Anyway the good news for you (1)4XX guys: It should cost you under $100 for a valve and fittings. If you do the pump too, ?????; I just got lucky and they had one I liked on "sale". The smaller ones aren't too pricey though. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif Hint Hint (a fellow guinea pig would be quite welcome /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif )

Single Detented Motor Valve

OK, no excuses; I know there has to be some 425 or 1430 or 1845 or whatever (the 24XX really needs a double so you don't need to unplug the BH to use front attachments) out there just begging for this addition! /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Remind me what you are trying to do here, This thread doesn't seem to be compleat. Was this project started in another thread?

Actually, not in another thread so much as because of several other threads:

There was a question in another thread about reversing the tiller to spit out stuck rocks. That got me just whimsically looking at reversing valves.

While looking at valves I got to thinking a 2 spool would be nice to split up my rear hydraulics. I did put a ball valve in line so I didn't have to unhook the BH lines (that thread maybe 4 months ago), but still a bit inconvienient.

Looking slightly more seriously at valves, I stumbled across the triple pump and remembered the steering/lift thread. This feature/flaw doesn't annoy me too much, but slightly. Also, by coincidence, a little while ago the relief valve for the PTO pump was sticking, I didn't particualarly like the set-up but left it in the back of my head until now - the greater significance of that being I was afraid my pump was going out when the relief stuck and wished I had a spare. Also by coincidence, every so often I'd notice high-flow skid-steer attachments go relatively reasonable and in the back of my mind wished the PT had a high flow pump.

No one thing would have really prompted me to do it, but all the little things just seemed to add up. Though I'm not sure if they add up to $600. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
