YT235 hydraulics seem weak

Love my tractor but a little disappointed in it's lifting capacity, borrowed a disc from a friend and his branson 30 hp front loader picked up the implement no problem but when I went to unload it with mine it would only lift it a few inches so what gives ? Can the pump be adjusted for more pressure or could there be another problem ?

I had the same "problem" until i realized I was running at well below rated engine RPM when trying a "heavy lift"....geo

what RPM are you running ? what's the heaviest you have lifted with it ?

Running 2500 RPM and lifted a green black walnut log that had an estimated weight of nearly 1000#. Bro used a "formula" for estimating log weight according to length and avg diameter. Front tires did "squat" a little when I lifted it into a trailer. Geo

With the limited info you provided, all I can say is the disc was too heavy.

What model was your friends branson?
What is his loader rated to lift?
What is your loader rated to lift?
How much does the disc weight?

The WORST possible thing you can do is start screwing with the pressure without a gauge. Do you have a gauge? What is the current system pressure?

Well an update to the hydraulic issue, took it back to the place I bought it from and they said that the hydraulics were weak and in doing a little research Yanmar sets the pump pressure low from the factory for some reason. After them having it for a weekend they readjusted the pump pressure and it is a lot better now.
