Thank you sharing the links. For "smaller" trees and "hobbyist-level" forestry, I do think a capstan wench offers some advantages. From poking around forestry websites, good quality, low stretch rope is key. Unfortunately, this type of rope is not cheap, but it does have several uses in the woods, so I can justify the cost.
I called Norwood yesterday and they do have them "in stock". They have a warehouse in Buffalo, NY, which is an easy drive.
After I get it I will share a report.
