YT359C hydraulic filter questions

Ah, so the filter next to the transmission filter under the foot plate is the power steering filter?

Actually, I think its more than just power steering, it also filters fluids for the loader, 3pt lift, and remotes if you have them.

The 40+ hp HST and I-HMT tractors will have a second filter for the transmission.

The geared transmission tractors, like the LX4xx series, will have just the one filter.

Stupid question - Why does Yanmar only supply one filter in their kit if two filters need to be changed ? Wouldn't the hydraulic filter be filtering the fluid from the above items ?

According to this brochure, the YT series has separate hydraulic and power steering pumps. That would be the reason you have two separate filters. This was stated earlier. Whether they pull from same reservoir seems to be the unknown.

I'm going to call my dealer tomorrow and see what they recommend.

I dunno, kits hadn't come out when I did my 50hr and 300hr LX changes. The dealer just handed me the parts over the counter. Maybe there was a communication screw-up or error with the department or firm that assembles the kits.

Interesting, I wonder if the kits are based off of the hour interval. When I talked to my dealer I told them I needed a kit for my 50 hour service. Maybe the power steering filter doesn't need changed until X hundred hours. I'll call tomorrow and find out for sure.
