Blue smoke is from burning oil. Sometimes slight, and I mean SLIGHT oil smoke can be seen with some small engines when first started and it can be considered normal. But if you state there is a lot of smoke at startup and it also smokes while its idling, I would have to say this indicates there is an oil control issue with the engine that should be checked out by the dealer.
