Dumb question but if the blades are .250 thick why is the machined down area .206? Wouldn’t you want it closer to .250? I ordered the blade bosses today.

The two washers are cupped & they flatten out when tightened down to clamp blade tight.

It didn’t make sense to me either until I took mine apart & seen the design setup.

I put on the g6 gator blades on my 72 side discharge ... a lot more blow out from front of deck. With it being dry it covers the whole mower ...

I mowed today in very dry conditions.

I got totally covered from blowout from under front of deck.

Headwind or Tailwind either one made it AWFUL.

I Needed Safety Glasses on but I was 1/4 mile from house or shop so I kept mowing getting eyefuls of clippings, dust & grit.

I can’t handle that mess at all

I’ll be on my 72 RD next time it’s dusty like this.

My major complaint with my ZD1211-72 and ZD326-60 is the amount of dust they create in dry conditions (with any kind of blade). They both will literally cover you with dirt in a matter of minutes. The 72" is the worst. My old ZD21-60 is not so bad. For me the mulching blades seem to create less blowout then standard ones.

Rear Discharge keeps the operator Way cleaner but the radiator catches the crud & clippings & you have to keep it clean or it’ll run HOT.

Pick your Poison I guess :D

97E003DE-631E-48FA-8B06-749D927AB140.jpegThe gator blades are very good I have used them myself however I would like to share my experience with them.
I had a set on my SCAG STHM 3 wheel 61 mower.
The deck is manually raised with a boat style hand winch which requires considerable time to raise if you hit something.
I have struck many rocks & stumps in the process of expanding my lawn.
I was mowing the lawn one day when the blade broke.
I recovered the broken end days later
My advice is to inspect the radius for cracks every time you sharpen them.
This is not limited to gator blades but any blade with a machined radius.

Yikes. I've never seen a blade crack like that, but I guess it happens. I'll pay closer attention to mine when I sharpen them. I know you gotta do what you gotta do when reclaiming lawn, but it does appear they have received some harsh duty!

They did!!
After that event I inspected the other 6 spare blades and they were all cracked.
Some rocks are too large to remove and although I tried to be careful things happen.
My wife uses a hydro walk behind and she痴 gotten hung up also.
I should have known better given my background but it never crossed my mine.
Every blade I inspected before I sharpen.

I put on the g6 gator blades on my 72 side discharge. There’s definitely more air flow out of the deck, but a lot more blow out from front of deck. With it being dry it covers the whole mower ....

My OEM Blades on 72 SD cut great & must have more vacuum lifting grass & blowing it out the side chute.
The G6 Gator Blades clippings are finer BUT I’m going back to stock blades because of the excessive blowout from under front of deck covering me up.

Can someone post a pic of Kubota OEM 77700-07937 Mulching Blades for a 72 SD ?

My local dealer only carries the K5975-34360 stock blades :confused3:

I’m thinking they have teeth on the wings similar to the G6 Gator Blades but a much shorter sharpened edge ?

I removed the G6 Gator Blades from my 72” RD deck mower today.
The cut was great & they cut the clippings much finer but just don’t sling the heavy clippings out the back like hi lift blades.

I installed new Oregon 92-116 High Lift Blades with much longer FLAT sharpened edge AFTER I’d removed all the baffles underneath, the 2 rear deck skids, all 3 rubber flap shields across the rear of deck & also cut a 1” strip off across the bottom of a metal shield in center.

All this was done to sling Heavy clippings out faster & broader instead of making 3 windrows each pass.

It’s still not as good as my 72” Side Discharge but it’s the best it’s ever been.

This was 6-8” hi thick heavy grass mowed in a back & forth pattern with 72” RD deck @ 3” blade height from concrete floor.

Clippings are still very visible but not concentrated into 3 separate windrows like before.

In a few days when clippings turns brown is when it’s Ugly :(

I took the G6 Gator Blades off my 72” SD Deck today & put the sharpened OEM Stock Kubota Blades back on with the original blade holders to compare.

The G6 did cut clippings up finer BUT the stock blades with Hi lift wings slings the clippings much further out of the chute which distributes them lighter over cut grass.

Im mowing 12-15 acres of Thick Heavy & Tall Grass on my farm Not a nice smooth subdivision yard or lot lol.

I think I’ll stay with the stock blades for my application

I have to take my g6 blades off. With it being dry the blowout from front of deck completely covers me and the mower.

/ Zd1211 blades #116
Same here.
The stock blades with taller lift wings must have more suction & not blowing dust AND grass out from under front of deck.

/ Zd1211 blades #117
I finally got around to trying out the machined hubs for the Gator blades. The hubs fit perfectly.
I also noticed more grass blowing out of the front of the deck, but no more than on my zd331 with Gator blades. The OEM blades on the zd1211 do a satisfactory job, and I got a little used to not being covered in clippings. I'll stick with the Gator blades though, particularly for mulching leaves.

I saw a guy on YouTube take the baffle out of the front of his ACS deck to not restrict clippings from left blade being slung out.

has anybody did this ?

/ Zd1211 blades #119
I unbolted, cut & removed the section of baffle in front of the right blade on my 72 SD Deck so that clippings would have the full width of side chute to exit the deck.

heavy clippings has a much wider spray pattern now.

I have been running G6 on a 72"SD for 2 years. I like them but in the fall when it is dry the front blow out can be annoying. I have machined a number of sets of the holders for these blades for other owners.
