The other thing to confirm would be to see if Kubota offers something like a wet bagging kit or trim ring that would modify the air flow. In a situation like this, it is best to talk to the dealer service guru to see if there are bulletins or accessories that may help. Be clear about what the shortcomings are. One thing that you will find is that there are less aftermarket offerings for Kubota L&G than say Deere or some of the other big manufacturers. IE trying another blade would be a sane thing to do, but if there are none available- then it is back to troubleshooting. I've had a couple of customers over the years that have had QOC or bagging issues with their Kubota that they weren't able to solve to their satisfaction. They all do. People's cutting environment and expectations are different. If you can safely drop the height of cut a notch lower, you may pick up more vacuum as well.

I did speak to dealer. He told me to try removing baffle in deck, I did this but it caused a lot of front blow out and didn’t change cutting performance much. He knew the issues I was speaking of and said many have complained like I have. Didn’t have any other blade offerings, but I’m in northeast where these mowers may not be as popular. I’m going to try calling some other dealers for input. The mowing isn’t terrible but I know with blades it can be better.

I think that Messick's is a pretty big Kubota Dealer. Try them?

Probably not the same, but my ZD1211 RD 60" deck takes this blade:

OREGON 596-810 - BLADE KUBOTA G5 20-1/2IN

This, along with the mulching kit makes a world of difference on the performance of my machine. It makes leaves disappear and the cut is beautiful.

part # for my ZD1021 side discharge K5945-34360. I would have thought all the blades would have been the same

From messicks

“I looked in with those sizes you have gave me and in the aftermarket company’s that we deal with they do not offer anything with those sizes. The zd1211 is tonew of a machine to have aftermarket blades. Any other questions please let me know and I will try to help.

Thanks

That's very disappointing? The ZD 1211's, ZD1511's ....... are not that new.

I'll stop by and check with my dealer tomorrow.

Please confirm you have ZD1211 with 72" side discharge deck?

Yes 1211 72” side discharge

Stopped by my local dealer today and visited with the parts manager, a long time friend. He told me that Kubota used same blades on the ZD1212 with 72” RD deck as all prior 72” side discharge decks.

He’s got no idea why they changed the blade design on the ZD1211 with 72” side discharge but ..... did confirm that, at this time, Oregon isn’t offering a Gator blade for your mower.

Sorry for the bad news.

Well thank you for asking, I’ll be on the lookout to see if anything pops up

My ZD1011 has a 15/16 hole in the blade. I could find a Gator blade that was correct in every dimension except the center hole so I bought a set with the smaller hole and a 15/16 diamond hole saw and drilled the bigger hole with the drill press. It took some testing and a good bit of cutting fluid but, it worked. The Gator blades are HARD steel and the newest version has carbide on the bottom of the blade.

First post here so be gentle! I just modified my ZD1211-72 to use the old style blades with the 1-1/8 hole. I ordered an extra set of K5955-34380 Spindle Boss (three each) at a cost of $45 for the set. I then machined the ends of the bosses down to 1-1/8 to fit the blades with the smaller holes. It's a simple mod that any machine shop can do in a few minutes. You can change back to the new 1-5/16 hole blades by simply installing the original blade bosses. I am installing Oregon Gator G6 mulching blades part no 396-814. I'll post my results with the cut quality shortly. I'll also put pictures of the mod in my album as soon as time permits.

I just cut about an acre with the Oregon blades and I am pleased with the outcome. Mostly leaves, weeds and some centipede. They cut and mulch leaves as well as my ZD326 Pro deck which was built prior to the "improved" ACS deck with the 1-5/16 spindles installed on the ZD1211. End result is better quality cut and longevity compared to OEM at about a 25% cost savings.

Did you get any pictures of new and old blade bosses. Just trying to understand what you did. Thanks. Have same mower and need rid of factory blades

I have pictures but have to first transfer from my phone to computer. Mod essentially consists of reducing the diameter of the end of the boss which protrudes through the 2 washers into the blade from 1-5/16 down to 1-1/8. The small end of the boss is machined down to 1.120" for a distance of .205" from the end. The rest of the boss is left at 1-5/16 in order to still fit the original washers. I should be able to post the pictures later this afternoon.

Ok thanks. If not message me I’ll give you my email or cell to send them to me

Hopefully I'll get this right.
The ideal depth of cut is .206 instead of the .200 shown in the pic. The diameter of the turned down section should be about 1.120".

Thank you, I will look into this. Bet if you had a bunch of these made up, everyone with an acs deck would buy them.
