I have a Kubota ZD 326, and I have a problem that I hope someone can help with. My engine, after running awhile will overheat, the temperature guage moves into the red zone, and then emits a high pitched noise, at which time I immediately kill the motor. This has been reported to the dealer, and he has replaced the thermostat. I have also been diligent about keeping the radiator clean of dust and dirt after each use, and keeping the radiator's overflow reservoir filled with coolant. Has anyone out there had a similar experience, and if so, what did you do about it? Thanks for your help.

About your engine,
Do you have a coolant water filter in engine compartment somewhere?
The whinning tells me the belt or belts are too tight and is affecting the bearing or bearings creatiing a huge binding load on the water pump and pump shaft.
An adjustable belt system should only have a very limited amount of flex in it if when it is adjusted and if itg is a dual belt sytem it may be overloaded on one side if it is not adjusted with a double nut and threaded rod of adjustment method.
Was the water pump examined to determine if its vanes are in good condition and not bypassing coolant? It may be binding so much the pump vanes are binding and not pumping and the coolant is of course overheating
It would be worth running the engine with a dial indicator located properly to determine if the pump pulley is running true or not, and flushing the coolant system as it also appears that the radiator may be plugged or a hose is collapsed-it does happen with new machines of many types

If it's under warranty then keep on Kubota to fix it, if not then check water pump for water circulation, radiator air flow.
