Kioti CK2620
I know this has been covered in other sections but wanted to remind everyone that the cams in our Kioti's are flat tappet and since Zinc Dialkyl DithioPhosphate (ZDDP) has been gone in both gas and diesel oil since 2004 these motors can wipe a cam lobe and send metal throughout the whole motor so make sure to use this additive. I run ZDDP in all my equipment.

Too much is also detrimental. Randomly adding lots to your oil isn’t necessarily beneficial, probably the opposite actually. I run AMSOIL Premium Protection 10w40 which is gas/diesel rated. The last info I have is 1265 phosphorus and 1378 zinc in ppm. Just be aware it’s rated up to CI-4+/SL though.
APPLICATIONS
AMSOIL Premium Protection Synthetic Motor Oil is recommended for air- and liquid-cooled, large or small gasoline and diesel engines, transmissions and chaincase applications where 10W-40 oils are required with any of the following specifications:
  • API SL, SJ, SH, SG
  • API CI-4+, CI-4, CH-4, CF, CF-2
  • ISO-L-EMA
  • Caterpillar* ECF-1
  • JASO MA (Motorcycle)
  • MAN* 271/3275
  • MTU Type 2
  • Cummins* 20071/20072/20076/20077
  • Volvo*, VDS-2, VDS
  • Mack* EO-M+, EO-M
  • ACEA A3/B3, E3, E5
  • MB 228.1,228.3, 229.1
  • Detroit Diesel* 93K214

I found a tappet for sale at All States Ag parts that states "Tappet fits Kioti CK25 CK27 CK30 CK35 DK35 DK45 DK55 DS3510 DS4110 DS4110 HS DS4510 LK2554 LK3054 LK3504 E5500-15553"
The parts filter on their site does not even list the NX series tractors so apparently they don't sell parts for them at all.
So, when you say "our Kioti's are flat tappet" does that include the NX series?

ZDDP was not eliminated in 2004.
Not sure where you heard that.
Gasoline motor oils are now limited to 800 ppm zinc, because the associated phosphorus is detrimental to catalytic converters. Diesel oils can be higher.
For example, conventional Rotella T4 has over 1,100 ppm zinc, and 1,000 ppm phosphorus. Your tractor engine is a low speed, low to mid cam to lifer pressure application. It’s not a gasoline race engine, with a high lift cam , with stiff springs running 5k rpm’s.
They’ve also introduced new formulations to replace the reduced zinc and phosphorus.
You might be doing more harm than good , adding zinc, if you already have a good diesel oil that’s properly formulated. More is not always better.
